Sustainability for Scholarships is a non-profit organization that creates scholarships for veterans by promoting green initiatives in the community. 

HOW WE DO IT 

COLLECT CANS & BOTTLES

 

We collect your empty cans and bottles with the NY bottle deposit

REDEEM BOTTLE DEPOSIT

We return them for 6¢ a piece at local recycling centers

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR VETS

100% of proceeds from the collections directly benefit the scholarships in place for local veterans

WHERE WE OPERATE

Syracuse

Syracuse-based businesses are provided advertising opportunities at various area festivals events from April through November, and  on the Le Moyne College campus.

Rochester

Our Rochester-area partners are offered an opportunity for year-round advertisement at most festivals, and city-wide events as well the Nazareth College Campus.

Up Next:

S4S has a plan to expand along I-90 from Buffalo to Albany, and eventually as far as Boston, MA in the next few years. Every contribution gets us closer to helping our heroes in each of these cities.

SPONSOR A RECYCLER

 

Your annual contribution will earn you a branded recycling bin to collect your organization's cans & bottles. It will be displayed throughout your city at various locations and events.

DONATE YOUR CANS

 

It's simple. Just collect your returnable cans and bottles at your home or office, bag them up, and get in touch with us to pick them up. We'll do the rest!

VOLUNTEER

Get involved!

Join us on location to help with bottle and can pick-ups and recycler drop-offs.

You can also apply for a position on the board.
